The snow and cold weather has made its way to Renfrew County, and the OPP wants ice safety to be top of mind.
Constable Phillippe Regamey says ice can be affected by factors like thickness, currents, and snow cover, and ice conditions can change from one waterway to the next.
Regamey says it’s important to be prepared when heading out onto ice.

Regamey is also reminding you to stay off the ice when conditions are obviously dangerous, and kids should never play on the ice unless they’re with an adult who is familiar with ice conditions.
