The Killaloe OPP has wrapped up its distracted driving patrols following a week of cracking down.
Constable Catharine Yarmel says while there was an increase of fines across the province, she’s happily reporting none were handed out in the area.
Officers had been directed to use a zero-tolerance approach to enforcement and only hand out fines over the course of last week.

It came as the province’s DriveWise program made a stop at MVDHS and a number of other schools in the county with presentations on the dangers associated with distracted driving.
Yarmel says the Festive RIDE programs are still in effect for the Killaloe OPP right up until January 7th.
