Santa Clause Parade Sees Surge of Participants with More Expected

The Madawaska Valley Lion’s Club is preparing for upcoming the 51st annual Santa Clause Parade in Barry’s Bay.

One of the parade’s organizers, Tom Smith, says nearly 30 participants have entered the parade, a total much higher than last year’s.

Smith says there’s no theme for float entries this year and it may have prompted more teams to make more entries.

The parade begins at noon on December 3rd, starting at Kelly Street before moving down Opeongo Line.

Live music and a gathering at the Paul J. Yakabuski Recreation Centre after the parade are on the schedule of events.
