The Killaloe OPP is warning residents about a new online scam which will ask you to pay a fine.
Police say you might get an e-mail or text to let you know you have to pay an unpaid fine.
The message will come with a link, which police believe might install malware onto your phone or computer if you click it, which can give unauthorized access to personal or banking information.

You should never click a hyperlink from an unknown source, never give away personal information or money to a person or business you don’t know, and delete these types of e-mails and texts as soon as you get them.
