The Festive RIDE program has kicked off this week and with it comes various check stops in the Madawaska Valley and Killaloe, Hagarty, Richards.
The Killaloe OPP says it wants to make sure its officers out on the road are safe.
Officials have a few tips for drivers who are approaching a RIDE checkstop over the next few months.

When you are stopping make sure you are aware of where the officer is and have your window down.
Pay attention to whether the officer is directing you to stop or keep moving.
This year’s campaign wraps up January 7th.
