Standing committee recommendations are on the docket for this evening’s council meeting in the Madawaska Valley.

Changes to Ontario’s Tenancy Act are stirring other councils to openly oppose the changes.

The latest to step up is the community of Neebing, with correspondence in tonight’s agenda dealing with the downloading of more responsibilities in housing to municipalities.

Also in correspondence tonight is a communication from the Minister of Finance.

The document contains information on the funding being maintained for rural municipalities through the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund.

It’s unclear as of yet if tonight’s meeting will be cancelled due to weather and Moose FM will have more information when it becomes available.

The full agenda can be found here.
