The Killaloe OPP is reminding residents to always be weary of telephone scams, as many in rural Renfrew County have been targeted.
It comes as a resident from Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Township received a call claiming they had won a large amount of money.
The homeowner didn’t respond to the call or give away any personal information, instead they called police.

The OPP says never give out information over the phone unless you have verified the caller and to call police immediately if you suspect it’s a scam.
