The creative juices are flowing as the Township of Madawaska Valley is consolidating ideas for the nation’s 150th anniversary.

An open meeting was held last month to a packed house of residents who came up with a number of creative ideas.

The recreation committee is likely to put a call out to form a sub-committee of volunteers which will steer the celebration in the right direction.

Community Development Coordinator Paul Nopper put together the full docket of over 60 ideas which the township is set to review.

Nopper says local community groups and organizations will have a great deal of autonomy, allowing them to play into their strengths for planning.

The committee says the value and service of volunteers cannot be understated as they are a critical component in the process.
