As the holiday season approaches, our local OPP wants you to be safe while you’re out shopping.
Police say the increase of shoppers in stores, and vehicles in parking lots, is an opportunity for thieves to try their luck.
Shoppers are being encouraged to bring a minimal amount of cash with them while shopping, and if you’re paying by card, always hide your PIN

Also, parking in well-lit areas and not leaving your purse or bags on seats inside your vehicle or in an unattended shopping cart are good deterrents of theft.
Make sure to keep all valuables inside your vehicle out of sight.
