North Hastings Children Services has introduced a new program to reduce family violence in our community.
The program is called the North Hastings Family Support Team, which will work closely with the Bancroft Community Safety & Well-Being Plan.
The new program was made possible with the help of a $70,000 grant from the provincial government.

Program Coordinator for the Early Years Child and Family Centre Sarah Phoenix explains what the goal of the team is.
Phoenix says the way to do this is by increasing awareness, creating safe and supportive communities, promoting healthy relationships, and targeting at-risk people, like those living in poverty.
It will also look at how to prevent family violence from happening.
