OPP Outlines Hot-Spot Areas of Wildlife Collisions in the Madawaska Valley

Both the MNRF and the Killaloe OPP are asking drivers to be cautious on our roads and to keep an eye out for wildlife.

The OPP in Killaloe recently shared a map of hot spots where wildlife collisions have occurred in the Madawaska Valley and surrounding areas.

The map shows the highway route through Algonquin Park isn’t the worst area for collisions with deer and other animals.

It instead shows areas near Round and Golden Lake, specifically where Highways 60 and 67 intersect.

Drivers should always use care near heavily wooded roads, where signage is posted, near rivers, lakes and creeks, where wildlife fences meet the road and especially on blind corners.

The full map of collision hot spots can be found here.
