The Madawaska Valley’s Development and Property Committee is moving forward with an Age Friendly Community Plan.
The draft handles everything from methodology, to health care, to community needs, to recreation and transportation.
Contributors to the drafted plan include members of the local hospital, public library, various senior’s clubs and local home support.

The plan aims to pinpoint strengths like local healthcare, community beautification and cultural experience.
Weaknesses included transportation – whether it be to larger city centres or locally – types of housing and lack of employment opportunities.
The comprehensive plan is still in its drafting stages and will be coming back to committee at a later date.
