The cold weather is an indicator that the snowy weather is coming and the Ontario Government wants you to be prepared for winter driving this year.

Officials are reminding drivers that it’s a good time right now to switch over the winter tires and pack a winter survival kit in your car.

Winter survival kits can be used if you ever get stuck in a remote area and won’t see help for a while.

They can include things like blankets, food, water and candles.

Drivers are also asked to be safe around snowplows, don’t try to overtake a snowplow on the highway and stay a safe distance back while the operator clears the road.
