Madawaska Valley’s township council is expected to address the proposed move of a public mailbox in the area of Dam Road.

Canada Post has cited winter road maintenance as the reasoning behind the move, something the township’s operations committee and its manager of Public Works says it was surprised by.

It came after a concerned resident addressed a letter to the township’s Operations Committee.

Communications from AMO are also on this evening’s agenda addressing infrastructure and consultation in the National Housing Strategy with its affects on rural eastern Ontario.

Also outlined is a settlement reached by the province of Ontario and the Ontario Provincial Police Association.

Council meets at 7:00pm at the Barry’s Bay municipal offices, the public is both welcomed and encouraged to attend council meetings.
