Premier Kathleen Wynne is hearing from the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus and the Eastern Ontario Mayors’ Caucus on rural issues.
Wynne met with both on Wednesday to discuss the importance of investment into infrastructure in both Renfrew and Hastings counties.
Renfrew County Warden and Chair of EOWC Peter Emon says those kinds of investments are just as important as those into transit in major urban centres.
The subject of rising energy costs, especially for seniors on fixed incomes, was a main focus of talks.
Both the mayor and warden caucuses conveyed a unified message on the matter stating that rural residents in eastern Ontario need real relief.
