Residents Urged to Way in on Possible Canada Post Changes in Rural Communities

Residents in the Madawaska Valley can weigh in on the future of Canada Post in rural communities.

The municipality is encouraging residents to make their voices heard by filling out an online survey after Canada Post announced more cutbacks.

The federal government is currently reviewing the status of Canada Post and a committee will be visiting rural communities in eastern Ontario to hear feedback from residents.

This comes as concerned residents on Dam Road were recently notified of a change in location of its nearest public mailbox.

That change was not discussed with the municipality, which is concerned it overstated an issue in order to use as a scapegoat for the move.

The survey can be found here, residents have until October 21st to submit feedback.
