OPP investigating a swatting incident in Pembroke

Upper Ottawa Valley OPP say another swatting incident has occurred in their detachment area, after a false emergency call was made in the City of Pembroke.

They say officers responded to a call last Wednesday just after 6 p.m. from someone suspected to be using a false identity, claiming a homicide had occurred at a residence.

They say after investigating, it was determined that no homicide had occurred and there were no injuries, and the incident was deemed “swatting” similar to an occurrence in Barry’s Bay earlier this year.
