MV Township holding public meeting to go over further updates to zoning by-law

The Township of Madawaska Valley is holding a public meeting tomorrow to review changes to their comprehensive zoning by-law.

JP2G Consultants, which undertook a review of the by-law for the township, said the meeting will mainly be focused on ensuring the changes align with the contents of the County of Renfrew Official Plan.

Senior planner Forbes Symon said they’ll be going over revised mapping, which reflects areas of the township where wetlands and mineral aggregate resource deposits are located.

He said these features are required to be the same on the township’s zoning by-law and the county’s official plan.

He added the zoning by-law and the official plan go hand-in-hand, and regulate the use of land.

Symon said the by-law has been updated and revised since their last public meeting in March, so this meeting gives the public an opportunity for questions and comments on the new document.

The meeting will be held at the municipal office at 4 p.m.

The documents are available for review on the township website.
