Anna McIntyre has received what 4-H Ontario calls its most prestigious volunteer award.
The award recognizes exemplary volunteer service with the youth development organization in Ontario and in local communities.
4-H Ontario said via a media release that McIntyre became a volunteer in 2002 and has led more than 90 projects including dairy, sports and various cooking clubs.
McIntyre has also served in various leadership roles, including as association board director and as a past director with the Ontario 4-H council.
A fellow volunteer said McIntyre leads by example, with integrity, innovation and genuine care for every youth.
The organization said McIntyre played a key role in creating opportunities for youth during the COVID-19 pandemic, starting with virtual meetings and later creating hybrid events with safety in mind.
4-H said said she gives time to other community organizations including community fairs and the Ottawa Valley Miniature Horse Committee.
Charles Twiss from the Wellington association and Craig Steven from the Elgin association also won the award for their contributions.
