People are more aware about domestic abuse, but it is still a problem

A local women’s shelter says people are more aware about the issue of domestic violence since the Wilno murders, but it is still a problem.

Executive Director of Maggie’s Resource Centre of North Hastings Tanya MacKinnon says women still face the stigma associated with domestic violence.

MacKinnon says she would like children to learn about what an unhealthy relationships looks like in school, so they’re not finding out the hard way when they get older.
