EV fast charger project underway at Algonquin Park visitor’s centre

A project is underway that will see the instillation of Level 2 and Level 3 EV charging ports at 15 locations in Ontario, including two spots at Algonquin Park.

Both the visitors centre and the portage store at the park will receive direct current fast chargers (Level 3), a spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation told MyBarrysBayNow.

The ministry said the provincial government, through its EV ChargeON program, is investing more than $180 million to increase the number of public EV charging stations across the province, improve EV charging infrastructure, reduce range anxiety, fill gaps in underserved areas, and build a more affordable and connected charging network.
