Madawaska Valley Comes up Big in First Year of Communities in Bloom

The Madawaska Valley is being honoured by the Communities in Bloom Program.

The national and provincial agricultural competition’s judges were in Barry’s Bay, Wilno and Combermere last month.

The Polish Kashub Heritage Museum and Park in-particular received high-praise from judges.

The township has received a rating of four-out-of-five blooms which Madawaska Valley Councillor Faith Archer says is a great achievement for the community.

This is the first year Madawaska Valley has been is a part of the program.

Judges rated tidiness, environmental action, heritage conservation, landscaping and floral displays for both residents and businesses.

The non-profit organization uses the competition to raise environmental awareness and community beautification.
