Committee Recommendations Heading to Council this Evening

Recommendations from the various committee meetings this month will be going to Madawaska Valley council this evening.

The Recreation meeting recommendations include grant money going to the local Canadian Legion and possible improvements to the PJY Community Centre.

The Operations committee discussed Bill 171 and its increased protection of snow removal and waste collection vehicles as-well-as the removal of the rocks in the Barry’s Bay connecting link corners and the costs for a new loader in the area’s waste sites.

Council will also be reviewing the re-introduction of the Affordable Houses Bill from the province and reviewing changes stemming from Renfrew County’s Official Plan.

The meeting is set for tonight at 7:00pm at the Barry’s Bay Municipal Office, the public is both welcomed and encouraged to attend.
