MPP of Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke John Yakabuski says he’s going to keep the pressure on the province to make Highway 17 a priority for the ministry.

Yakabuski will be meeting with Ontario’s Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca to discuss the absence of Highway 17’s twinning efforts in the ministry’s five-year plan.

Yakabuski says one of the main concerns he’s hearing from residents of his riding is the continued expansion of the highway is important to the region.

He says its absence from the plan will mean delays the region simply can’t afford.

Yakabuski says he’s looking forward to opening discussion with the minister on the case and will continue to pressure the province on this matter.
