MNRF Fines Illegal Hunter, Raising Awareness for Safety and Proper Hunting Practices

A total of $3,500 in fines has been handed to a Waterloo for hunting without a licence in the Bancroft area.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says, during the May hunting season, the man shot and killed two black bears after sunset with only one tag.

The man has now been fined $1,250 for shooting a bear without a licence, $1,000 for not attaching a seal to game wildlife immediately, and $250 for hunting at night.

The man also had his hunting licence banned for a year.

On top of that, the man also go a $1,000 fine for shooting a fawn without a licence during the 2015 deer season.
