Madawaska Valley’s Recreation, Heritage and Culture Committee will be discussing Ontario’s first Culture Strategy, hearing full staff reports, financial updates and Renfrew County’s Youth Summit.
The program, which has been in place since 2013 has had over 50 students from Madawaska Valley attend to discuss health and social issues, connect with other students, staff and trustees in the region and engage secondary students in their communities.
The county youth summit will be taking place on October 6th.
Ontario’s new culture strategy aims to increase funding and opportunities for youth cultural camps, Indigenous programs and leadership, awareness and provide better funding for recreation and heritage projects or events.
The committee convenes tomorrow at 9:00am in municipal council chambers, the public is both welcomed and encouraged to attend committee meetings.
