The Township of Madawaska Valley will be discussing its possible support of a bill to improve road safety for waste collection vehicles, snow plows and roadwork crews.
The recommendation comes from the Township of Carlow/Mayo and it’s seeking the support of Bill 171, a Highway Traffic Act Amendment.
The bill would make it the law to slow down near snow plows, garbage trucks and public works vehicles.

The Township of Carlow/Mayo says its operators should be protected the same as police, EMS and fire vehicles when on the road.
Madawaska Valley’s council will be discussing the bill further in its Operations Committee meeting tomorrow with many already in support of it.
