28 signs vandalized in Madawaska Valley

Vandalism in Madawaska Valley over the weekend cost taxpayers nearly $2,000 in damage.
That’s according to local municipal officials who say that 28 signs, including stop signs, were vandalized and must be replaced.
An image of a stop sign on the Madawaska Valley Facebook page shows Prime Minister Mark Carney’s name spray painted on it.
Officials say that every time something in the township is vandalized, it takes time and money away from other services they need to provide.
They add that damaging public assets and spaces is not edgy or heroic, it is selfish and illegal.
Anyone who lives in the vicinity of the damaged signs and has security or doorbell camera footage that may show the perpetrators in action is asked to save it and report it to the police.
