A fundraiser has been launched to support a Monteagle family who lost their home in a devastating fire in the early hours of Friday morning.
Tyler and Nancy Davis, along with their two young children escaped the blaze unharmed, but their home and belongings were completely destroyed. The fire broke out around 3:30 a.m., and the family escaped with only the clothes on their backs — leaving behind all their belongings.
The Davis family had only recently moved into the home after spending the past two years building it themselves, with the help of friends and family — often working evenings and weekends while raising their children and balancing full-time jobs.
The cause of the fire remains unknown. It is believed to have started outside the home, and the sound of shattering glass from a window or patio door were what alerted the couple to the danger.
A fundraiser has been set up to help the family recover and begin the long process of rebuilding.
“Tyler and Nancy are always there for others,” says Go Fund Me organizer Janea Hennessy. “Now it’s our turn to show up for them.”
Organizers ask that those wishing to donate physical items check in first, to avoid overwhelming the family as they determine their next steps.
Rebecca Clemmer, Tyler Davis’s sister says the family is with their parents at the moment.

“Until they can get their bearings straight honestly, financial support seems to be the best way right now because then they can get their clothing that they need to take a breath off of work” says Clemmer. “Just to have time to start replacing some of the bits and pieces of their life.”
