Staff and members of Madawaska Valley council gathered at Mayflower Park in Combermere yesterday morning to thank John and Lynne Yantha, of Yantha Backhoe & Trucking Ltd., for their recent contribution to the park.
In 2024, the company worked with the Township of Madawaska Valley to install armour stone around the park’s playground and parking area. The stonework helps create a clear boundary between the play area and the adjacent roadway, while also providing seating for parents and caregivers.
The work, valued at nearly $5,000, was completed at a significantly discounted rate as a gift to the municipality.

Township officials recognized the Yanthas’ ongoing support for community initiatives, including improvements to Mayflower Park.
