The public is being asked to help save turtles during the fall months

As we enter September, you’re being asked to be careful for turtles on the road.

Brian Ensoll, who is working to save turtles from Gooderham to Barry’s Bay, says September and October are the second most active times for turtles to be on the road.

This is because they are preparing to hibernate.

Ensoll says there are three main risks for turtles in the area, one of these being predators.

Ensoll says another is drivers.

Ensoll says the third risk is people selling them as food.

Ensoll will be hosting seminars in the area to teach people about how to protect local turtles.

You can contact Ensoll by e-mail at [email protected].
