Madawaska Valley’s youngest councillor has resigned.
Coun. Joseph Olsheski was elected during the 2022 election.
Madawaska Valley CAO Suzanne Klatt has accepted Olsheski’s resignation, effective March 15.
Council says that they will be meeting “in the short term to determine the process for replacing the vacant councilor position.”
In his resignation letter, Coun. Olsheski thanked the people of Madawaska Valley for their trust and support.
“I would like to thank the council and staff for making the past two years productive and successful, it would not have been that way without the hard work each and everyone put in.”
“I am sorry to hear that Councillor Olshelski has submitted his resignation as he was very knowledgeable, particularly when it came to public works issues. He was by far the youngest member of our council and played an important role in representing that age group. He will be missed,” said Mayor Mark Willmer
In a social media post the Township stated: “CAO/Clerk Suzanne Klatt, council and staff wish Councillor Olsheski good luck in his future ventures and thank him for his service to his community. All the best, Joseph!”
