Canada’s 150th on Council’s Radar
The Township of Madawaska Valley has already began brainstorming ideas for Canada’s 150th.
Special funding opportunities such as the Canada 150 Program could go a long way towards the celebration.
Madawaska Valley council discussed the idea of doing a year-long celebration, like many other municipalities, culminating with the actual Canada Day events.
The township will be making its application for $70,000 through the special program.
It’s also possible the township will incorporate MWDHS’ 50th anniversary into the celebrations as well.
Council will be forming a community group from local organizations at some point to refine ideas.
