The individual called 911 Wednesday afternoon, after falling through the ice on Eagle Lake.
The woman was unable to immediately get out of the icy water due to her heavy, wet clothes.
She was, however, able to phone for help.
The call dropped before the person was able to provide her location, but Frontenac OPP say that officers rushed to the area by locating the cell towers.
Officers tracked footprints across the lake, while encountering spots of open water, searching for the caller.
They found the location where the woman had fallen through and discovered she had been able to crawl out and seek shelter in a small building nearby.
Medical attention was required due to the extremely cold temperatures.
With no road access, the woman was put into a kayak, wrapped in officers coats, and pulled back across the lake to an ambulance and waiting paramedics.
OPP remind everyone that “No ice is safe ice.” Conditions can be unpredictable and you should take all necessary precautions while traveling on frozen waterways.
