Recreation Committee Meeting Set for Today

Ontario150 prospects, Ontario’s new culture strategy and mid-season reviews are all on the docket for Madawaska Valley’s Recreation, Heritage and Culture Committee meeting.

The committee is likely to be taking a closer look at capital projects for investment from the Ontario150 program.

Madawaska Valley Council briefly discussed improvements to the town’s water tower and the likelihood of work on the arena.

Recreation and Community Development Coordinator Paul Nopper says the meeting for the funding applications was well attended.

He says a new arena floor and roof are likely projects the town will be examining more closely.

The meeting runs from 9:00am until noon today at the township hall.
