From Madoc to Barry’s Bay, RCAF will conduct fly pasts for Remembrance Day

The Royal Canadian Air Force will conduct flypasts for several Remembrance Day commemorations across Canada on November 11.

Heather at the Barry’s Bay Legion said two chinook helicopters from tactical Squadron 450, Petawawa, will fly over Barry’s Bay at 1 p.m. on Monday.

Flypasts are being carried out by aircraft from Royal Canadian Air Force Wings throughout Canada at various times throughout the day.

A CH 146 Griffon will be flying over Madoc as well.

The aircraft will fly over the events at an altitude no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle on their routes.

Flypasts by the Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft are carefully planned and closely controlled for public safety and are dependent upon weather and flying conditions.
