Maggies resource centre is hosting this years Take Back the Night event in Bancroft. They say it will be an evening of “community empowerment, live music & advocacy in support of the Take Back the Night Foundation”.
There will be featured performances by Algonquin women’s singing and drumming group Shawashkong Ikwe singers, and all-women’s group the Revelins, as well as guest speakers, including Bancroft’s Manager Andra Kauffeldt.
The event takes place in Millenium Park from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

In 1981, The Canadian Association of Sexual Assault Centres declared the third Friday of September to be the evening for Take Back The Night marches nationwide.
