Opening ceremonies for Eganville kick off Friday, part of its 125th anniversary celebrations.
It’s part of the Bonnechere Valley Township’s 125 events for the anniversary, which have either wrapped up or are yet-to-begin over the course of the year.
The organizing committee is preparing a time capsule to be opened in 2091, the town’s 200th anniversary and is looking for local donations to be sealed within.
Organizers say items with any sort of historical importance, messages to the future capsule’s owners and anything that represents life in the community is being sought after.
The opening ceremonies begin tomorrow followed by a farmers market, a Helo display from the Petawawa Garrison and a celebration into the evening at the arena.
