J & P Leveque Bros. Haulage Ltd. has been awarded a contract to fix a stretch of Highway 62 between Maynooth and Maple Leaf.
Hastings Highlands council decided to go forward with the company after it put forward a bid of just over $145,000 for the contract.
Operations Manager Adrian Tomasini says asphalt will be repaired on the six lane-kilometre stretch of road.

Tomasini says the municipality set aside $300,000 for the project, meaning there will be some money left over.
Although there is a goal to move some of the money back into the municipality’s reserves, some may be used to repair Highway 62 between Maple Leaf and Madawaska Valley.
