With a heat warning still in effect in Madawaska Valley, Hastings and Prince Edward Public Health has some tips to stay safe.

Senior Public Health Inspector Andrew Landy says a person’s health can be at risk in this type of heat.

Landy also encourages us close all awnings, blinds and drapes when leaving the house, and wear a hat while outside.

If we can get inside to a cool place for a few hours, or take a swim, it’s also a good idea in this weather.

He says we should drink plenty of water, and although alcohol and sugary drinks are not as good, they are still better than nothing.
