As we head into another weekend, police want you to be safe if you plan on boating.
Bancroft OPP Constable Phillip Regamey says it’s important to inspect your boat before launching, and that you review all the rules.
Regamey says there are also personal safety practices once on your boat.
The penalties for impaired boating is the same as in any other vehicle.

He says you also need to make sure to have enough personal flotation devices for anyone you plan on bringing on your boat.
Everyone who takes the wheel on your boat needs to have a pleasure craft operating licence.
