Elementary students in Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan got a surprise visit on Wednesday from the Fire department.
Fire Chief Jordan Genrick says they decided to pay the kids a visit after the fire department learned that students from Grades 1-4 had their class trip cancelled due to extreme heat.
“We caught word of that, and that they were having a water fight, so we jumped into action and headed up to the school with some firefighters and a truck and lots of water.”
Genrick described pulling into a laneway next to the playground with what was essentially a ‘giant water gun’.
“We actually have what we call a monitor, which is a water cannon on top of the truck. And we opened it up and let it fly and the kids were excited about that.”

According to Genrick, the fire department managed to keep the visit a surprise.
