Heat warning issued in Madawaska Valley

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Barry’s Bay and surrounding areas.

This includes Killaloe, Petawawa, Pembroke, Cobden, Renfrew, Arnprior and Calabogie.

Environment Canada says the heat and humidity will start today, and stay until Thursday.

Although temperatures across the region are expected to reach about 32 degrees, the humidex will make it feel closer to 40.

Showers and thunderstorms may bring temporary relief from the heat.

Cooler weather is expected to arrive by Friday.
