Trenton protest comes to Bancroft

Trenton residents made their way to Bancroft to protest cuts to Trenton Memorial Hospital.

The protest was held at the North Hastings General Hospital during Quinte Health Care’s Annual General Meeting.

Their concern stems from QHC moving surgeries from Trenton to Belleville General Hospital.

Some protesters expressed their concerns to Moose FM.

QHC Board Chair Tricia Anderson says the cuts are to meet funding mandates and quality metrics.

Anderson says TMH provides great service to its patients, and says there is no plan to close the hospital.
