In a recent press release, Kevin Lamarr, the Indigenous Engagement Specialist for Algonquins of Pikwaknagan, said they are looking for input from all status and non-status first nations people as well as Metis and Inuit residents in the region.

The goal is to to hear about people’s healthcare experiences as well as their needs and cultural insights.

Lamarr added that the feedback will be vital in “crafting a healthcare system that truly understands, respects, and includes Indigenous perspectives.”

The first in a series of meetings happening across the Valley will be held on January 31rst at the Renfrew Legion, from 6-8pm.
