Freezing rain and warmer weather over the weekend t had some snowmobile clubs closing their trails, while others remained open.
The Maple Leaf Snow Skimmer trails were available and Snow-Skimmer Steve Lang spoke about conditions.
“We didn’t get a lot of traffic and our trails held up. And so we got out, did some grooming and we are trying to catch up on all of our routes. If it gets mild, we’re going to have a problem. We need some cold. We need some snow, and some new material to start working with to be able to better lay a trail.” He adds they are doing their snow dance and hoping to get some fresh snow to add to our existing base.
Snowmobilers should always check the OSC interactive map for trail status before going out.
