Peter Emon will serve another term as the Warden of Renfrew County.
Emon, who’s also Reeve for the Town of Renfrew, has been nominated again for the role by county councillors.
As he’s the sole nominee, the appointment is expected to be made official when council next meets on Dec. 12.
It will mark his sixth time being Warden, a job that involves a one-year term.
Emon says the role has evolved as the County is now responsible for many areas outside of traditional municipal work of maintaining roads and bridges.
Over the past year, Emon has worked on several initiatives, including a plan to bring more affordable housing to Eastern Ontario and efforts to improve access to health care.
He says, in the role, “with continued support of Council, our staff and our community, I will seek solutions on behalf of our friends, family and neighbours.”
