The Southern Ontario Ice Climbing Festival won’t happen this year.
The Maynooth-based festival took ice climbers to cliffs off Hastings Highlands lakes for the past eight years on a winter weekend.
A social media post from organizers said they are “taking a much-needed break.”

The post also says that “after this ‘pause’ we are hoping to re-organize with fresh eyes and welcome a new generation of organizers to take the reins.”
