The rising cost of living has a Renfrew County organization thinking of new ways to fight poverty.

Chéla Breckon is the new Executive Director for the Renfrew County Community  Poverty Action Network. (CPAN)

She says the Network is looking at a new “wealth re-distribution strategy.”

“We are in a time when community care is needed more than ever,” she says. “My new role, as Executive Director, is to bring forward multi-channel ways for money and benefits to flow out to clients.

“Part of what I’m hoping to build is a network for CPAN, who are willing to put their hand out when someone is in need and respond immediately.”

Breckon says the Network isn’t limited to cash donors. CPAN also hopes to connect with organizations or people who can also donate time, knowledge and services.
