It’s news that might make you say E-I-E-I-O. A Farms Open event is happening in Renfrew and Pontiac counties on Sunday, Sept. 24.
Thirteen farms are opening their doors to the public for self-guided tours, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
And on these farms are a variety of items that showcase the wide range of products raised and produced in the region
Among the businesses participating are Golden Lake-based Sernoskie’s Tree Farm and Alder Creek Farm.
Farms Open is put on by the Ottawa Valley Food Cooperative, with support from Renfrew and Pontiac counties and The Co-operators.
They describe the event as “a celebration of all things local, fostering meaningful connections between consumers and producers.”
